NATIONAL EARLY WARNING SYSTEM: PRESENTATION
Nowadays there are more and more illegal substances in circulation and more and more ways in which they are consumed. It is necessary to have timely information that allows the institutional and non-institutional bodies concerned to rapidly identify the dangers connected to new drugs and new methods of consumption. Furthermore, the discovery of critical situations can lead, if necessary, to the activation of concrete back actions on the part of the territorial operating units whose task is safeguarding public health, reducing overdoses and deaths. Geo Drugs Alert is the IT tool by which the Drugs Early Alert System collects the information needed to identify potential situations of health risk and through which it is able to spread the alert notices across the entire national territory. The willingness of all to collaborate and share information are the characteristics that allow the system to act effectively. We therefore thank all of those who wish to participate in the proper functioning of the Drugs Early Alert System by sharing alerts and information.
